Becky - Running Coach
I started running in 2002 because a friend had decided to run a marathon  and was finding the long runs a bit tedious so asked me to run with her to help her along….little did I know that i would be bitten by the running bug and end up signing up for the London Marathon!  I have a background in fitness and coaching and already had several qualifications before joining the club which saw me regularly delivering fitness coaching to some of our local football clubs and managing a Leisure Centre, I have also completed  the Level 2 UKA coaching Qualification specializing in Endurance.

I don’t race anymore because I don’t want to but I did enjoy the competitive part of running when I was racing and I’ve completed all distances from 5k up to 26.2m. My most memorable run was my third marathon which I completed in sub 3:45; the marathon distance would rank among my favourites but I do really like the 10k distance. !!

Nowadays running for me is all about the sheer joy of putting on a pair of running shoes and getting out in the elements. It doesn’t matter why you choose to run as long as it is something you enjoy. Competing is great but so is running along the cliff in the sun with the dog. The beauty of running is that whatever your ability, whatever your aim, whatever you feel like when you take that first step, the end feeling is almost always the same.  And that is most definitely happy running!
